Spirit of Innovation Electric Aircraft Shatters World Records

Discover the Spirit electric aircraft, setting new world records in speed and climb.

The Spirit of Innovation electric aircraft has made history by setting three new world records, showcasing the incredible potential of electric aviation. On November 16, 2021, the aircraft demonstrated its remarkable capabilities, breaking records in top speed and climb rate.

At 15:45 (GMT), the Spirit of Innovation achieved a staggering top speed of 555.9 km/h (345.4 mph) over a 3-kilometer distance. This impressive feat smashed the existing record by 213.04 km/h (132 mph), proving the power and efficiency of its 400kW (500+hp) electric powertrain.

The electric aircraft continued its record-breaking streak by reaching a speed of 532.1 km/h (330 mph) over a 15-kilometer distance. This remarkable achievement surpassed the previous record by a staggering 292.8 km/h (182 mph), further highlighting the capabilities of the Spirit of Innovation.

Finally, the aircraft set a new record for the fastest time to climb to 3,000 meters, completing the ascent in just 202 seconds. This impressive performance bested the previous record by a full 60 seconds, demonstrating the unparalleled power and efficiency of the Spirit of Innovation's electric propulsion system.

The Spirit of Innovation's record-breaking runs were made possible by its cutting-edge 400kW electric powertrain and the most power-dense propulsion battery pack ever assembled in aerospace. Join us in celebrating these groundbreaking achievements and witness the future of electric aviation with the Spirit of Innovation.
